ERGODYNAMICS
In the early 70’s, Miguel Sánchez-Osorio began to develop a technique based on the study of the foot as the foundation of human anatomy. Yet as his professional experience had shown him that the structure and operation of the foot can affect the structure and operation of a large part of the body, he developed his methodology based on a global study of the patient rather than on the foot as an isolated unit. The result of his investigations was named ERGODYNAMICS.
ERGODYNAMICS is the study of the lower limbs in movement, whether while walking, running, standing or practicing any type of sport or exercise. During any type of movement, a person seeks the maximum equilibrium of the spinal column and lower limbs through the support of the foot surface. The objective of ERGODINÁMICA is to determine the support structure that each individual uses to maintain global equilibrium since any change in the support area of the foot surface can cause joint and musculoskeletal degeneration and result in the development of various conditions. In children’s case, these changes in the foot surface can also affect growth and development.
Thirty years of experience in the application of the method developed by Miguel Sánchez-Osorio has demonstrated its high level of effectiveness. We could define this technique as a revolutionary system of analysis and diagnosis that produces a unique treatment for each patient and condition. Currently there are 15 Ergodinámica Centres established throughout Spain, each staffed with a highly qualified team of professionals.
