TREATMENT OF DISEASES OF THE ORAL MUCOSA

The oral mucosa is the lining that covers the inside of the mouth and can cause both benign and malignant pathologies.

Benign mucosal diseases can be inflammatory, traumatic or infectious. Sometimes they appear after taking drugs or in physiological situations, such as pregnancy epulis.

Malignant lesions of the oral mucosa or oral cancer are much more frequent than generally believed, being directly related to alcohol and tobacco. For this reason any lesion that lasts for more than 15 days should be evaluated by a specialist.
